A Week With Tater (29): The One With Defiance, Scarlet & A NYMBC Party

A Week with Tater is a culmination of Stalking The Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Showcase Sunday hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea and every other incarnation of showing off what your postman brought you. It's purpose is to encourage those lovers of books to share what came their way, by way of wining, begging, borrowing or buying. 

What is going on everyone? I hope you all are enjoying a wonderful summer!! The heat has picked up over here and it has been wonderful! Except last week when I forgot to put sunscreen on my legs and turned into a lobster! 

But I cant really complain when other places like China and London are flooding! 

Anyways so I have decided to do something different in this post. I have decided to do a bit more of a blog recap and all around update here. Also no video this week because I just don’t have the hours to wait for it to format and then load. It’s starting to irritate me quite a bit! So who knows when my next video will be! But because I won’t be doing a video as often, I might go back to doing this post ever week. I won’t always have books because I have slowed down a lot with buying books. I seriously just have WAY too many already!!! But If I don’t show books, I’ll show other things! So I hope you all will enjoy what is to come!!!!

Since I'm not doing a video, I’ll write a tiny lil blurb about how excited I am for the book and what not!!! 

Bought/Got Signed 

So I went to another NYMBC event recently and this one was AMAZING!!! It was an author party and was just incredible!! I got to mingle with other bloggers and authors and managed to pick up a couple books I have been wanting! It was also great seeing all these local authors!! As always NYMBC put on an amazing event!!! 

You Are So Undead To Me by Stacey Jay 

I have wanted to read this one for a while and Stacey is one of the sweetest authors I have ever met! And that girl has a SICK style!!! 

Personal Demons by Lisa Derochers 

So I saw book 3 in this series and needed it just for the cover. So I found it was a book 3 (way boo cuz I wanted it now!) and went to hunt down book 1! Needless to say I am in a hurry to read this series so I can go and get book 3 (I wont allow myself to buy books in a series until after I have read and loved the first book in the series.) anyways interesting fact, Lisa HATES the cover!!! Apparently the original photo was all boobs and like out there! Hehe. I still love the covers!! 

The Alchemy of Forever by Avery Williams 

So this is a WAY beyond cool moment I got to have with Avery. I did not know that they were redoing the cover of this for the paperback version. So I saw it there and was like WOW that is the cover! AMAZING! And one of my fav I have seen for this one. So I went up to Avery and showed it to her and she was OMG! I have not see this before! I mean she saw the cover, but not the physical book with the new cover! Amazing moment and hence the amazing note inside! Her first time signing her paperback! So yea, love it!!! And Avery is amazing!! We ended up talking about my morbid fascination with cutting people open (occupational hazard, being a nurse and all) 

False Memory by Dan Krokos 

Another reason I TOTALLY love Maggie and all her NYMBC amazingness is because she surprises people!!! Always follow her on Twitter or FB because you get prizes for just doing the normal share everything with the world! Anyways I got this beauty for posting the even on FB! So thanks again Maggie! Hope you are enjoying your vacation!
