2012 New Adult Reading Challenge

UPDATE: I have completed this challenge also and am just going to increase it to Fully Independent!

I am so glad I just found this one.  After reading Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGurie I wanted more books just like it!!! I love to read YA but as I am 26 I have a hard time relating to characters in high school! And having just graduated college I loved reading about Abby and Travis in College!!! So I'm so going to take part in this challenge if for no other reason than to discover more amazing books!!!! Danya from A Tapestry of Words is hosting the 2012 New Adult Reading Challenge. A challenge that is all about being a "New Adult". You know the books that are set in the college years, post high school drama year and having to live in the real world years!

The Deets:
Challenge Objective: Read more books about "New Adult" novels! Books with protagonists in their late teens or early twenties, post-graduation, fending for themselves in the adult world they have been pushed into
Runs From: Jan 1, 2012 - Dec 31, 2012.
Books that count: The book must feature a protagonist who is past the average age for graduation from high school (18 in most places). If they're sitting on the fence at precisely age 18, then you can make the judgment call on whether it is more YA or New Adult. (If the majority of it is set in high school, I'd classify it as YA.) The protag should be younger than 30, just to give a maximum limit as well (otherwise we're getting into Not-So-New Adult literature!)

  3. Thanks so much for joining the challenge, Tara! I'm totally with you on not relating very much to characters in high school anymore. So much high school drama! I'm really glad to find some other bloggers and readers who feel the same way :) Hope you discover some wonderful New Adult reads during 2012!
